India win the tri series final

India A have stormed to the tri-series title in emphatic fashion, wrapping up a crushing 66-run victory in a finish that carried both tension and inevitability.

Vipraj Nigam delivered the decisive moment, and with it, the championship, as Mohamed Shiraz finally succumbed after a long, grinding resistance.

Shiraz, on 21 from 33 balls, had tried to hold things together, but the pressure became unbearable.

In a desperate attempt to break free, he went for a forceful hack across the line against a delivery that spun away sharply, only to hear the faintest outside edge.

What followed was pure reflex and brilliance. Anukul Roy flew to his right at backward point, diving low to complete a stunning catch inches above the turf.

India one wicket away from victory

India are now just one wicket away from sealing victory as Anukul Roy delivers a decisive blow, removing Dulaj Samuditha in dramatic fashion.

Samuditha, swinging wildly in desperation, attempted a big slog sweep from well outside off stump, but only succeeded in skying a top edge high into the night sky.

The ball hung in the air long enough for tension to build before Vipraj Nigam settled under it at short fine leg and completed a composed catch.

Samuditha’s cameo of 15 off 11 ends as India tighten their grip and stand on the brink of a convincing win.

Sahan departs, India edge closer

Wanuja Sahan fought hard for his 62 off 69 balls, but his resistance has finally come to an end and it looks like a knock in vain for Sri Lanka.

He knew he had to bat through till the end to keep his side in the contest, but India have struck at a crucial moment.

Vipraj Nigam gets the breakthrough. Tilak makes no mistake this time. It was a simpler chance, and he holds on comfortably.

Sahan goes for the reverse sweep again, but this time only manages a top edge that goes straight to hand.

A vital wicket at a decisive stage, India inching ever closer to sealing control of this contest.

India tigheting the grip on match

Wanuja Sahan is holding the innings together on 54, but Sri Lanka still face a steep challenge heading into the final 10 overs.

They need another 103 runs, and it will take something special from Sahan if they are to pull off an unlikely finish.

India, meanwhile, are steadily tightening their grip and inching closer to sealing the series, with the game slipping further and further away from Sri Lanka.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (275/7 in 40 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Wanuja Sahan (54*), Mohamed Shiraz (6*).

Wanuja keeps fighting

Wanuja Sahan continues to fight a lone battle out in the middle, bringing up a well-compiled half-century off 55 deliveries, but Sri Lanka still have a mountain to climb!

They now need 120 runs from just 75 balls, and the required rate is edging dangerously close to 10 an over. The pressure is really starting to mount here.

India, meanwhile, will feel they are firmly back in control, but they can’t afford even a moment’s lapse in intensity. One more wicket here could well shut the door completely on Sri Lanka’s hopes.

WICKET! Anukul dismisses Viyaskath

Just when the partnership was beginning to look dangerous, Anukul Roy has provided the breakthrough India desperately needed!

He breaks a 77-run stand as Vijayakanth Viyaskanth goes! Caught by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and that’s a huge moment in the game. He went searching for the boundary, trying to up the tempo, but in the end mistimes it and pays the price.

India strike at the right time, and Sri Lanka’s resistance takes a big hit right when they were threatening to turn the chase around.

Jun 21, 2026 17:14 IST

India going through the motions

Sri Lanka are still hanging in there, refusing to throw in the towel as Wanuja Sahan and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth have put together a fighting 71-run partnership from 59 balls.

But the task remains enormous, with Sri Lanka still needing 130 off 90 deliveries and the required run rate climbing past 8.5.

India, meanwhile, will know there is no room for complacency. Even with control in their hands, one quick acceleration from the set batter could suddenly drag Sri Lanka back into the contest and add a late twist to the finish.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (248/6 in 35 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Wanuja Sahan (42*), Vijaykanth Viyaskanth (38*).

Sri Lanka keep fighting

Sri Lanka are refusing to go down without a fight. Wanuja Sahan and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth have stitched together a valuable 41-run partnership for the seventh wicket, offering the visitors a glimmer of hope.

However, the mountain remains steep as Sri Lanka still need more than 150 runs, with the required rate having climbed beyond 7 an over.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (218/6 in 31 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Wanuja Sahan (30*), Vijaykanth Viyaskanth (20*).

India dominate Tri-Nation final

For the cricket watchers that are joining us right now. India have dominated the tri-series final.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's attack with the bat turned out to be too much for Sri Lanka to handle as the team has simply failed to fight back.

With the ball, Sri Lanka leaked 140 runs in the first 10 overs, which helped India hit 377 runs in the first innings.

Sri Lanka were not able to fight back with the bat either. The in-form openers Avishka and Fernando failed to survive the powerplay. Once they got out, Sri Lanka perhaps realised that the chase was out of their hands.

Since then it has been about either hit the ball or get out hitting.

And because of that, they are now 6 wickets down for 197 runs in 29 overs.

India are moments away from winning the game.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (197/6 in 29 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Wanuja Sahan (21*), Vijaykanth Viyaskanth (9*).

Tilak Varma strikes! Last nail in coffin for SL-A

WICKET!

Premeditated reverse sweep from Sri Lanka captain Sahan Arachchige, and Tilak Varma gets his first wicket of the match. A miscued reverse, which goes straight to the fielder at short third man.

This is a disaster for Sri Lanka A who have now lost their 6th wicket of the match.

WICKET! Vipraj strikes, India remove Ravindu

Sri Lanka are not holding on. I think they either simply want to hit or get out.

India are sensing the finish line here in Dambulla.

Vipraj Nigam continues to float the ball. Either those are going for boundaries, or the are ending up in the hands of the fielders. Ravindu, came into the crease just 2 overs back tries to go over cover, but fails to get the elevation. The ball goes straight into the hands of Tilak Varma, who keeps hold of a sharp chance.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (154/5 in 21 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Ravindu Fernando (19), Sahan Arachchige (29*).

WICKET! Ashok Sharma sends back Samarawickrama

The fourth wicket comes in the 18th over!

Sadeera Samarawickrama was looking impressive but he now will have to depart. Sri Lanka are four wickets down in the final, and there should be a landslide from here on.

Hard length ball from Ashok Sharma, Samarawickrama tries to cut the ball too close to his body, and ends up giving away his wicket.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (128/4 in 18 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Sadeera Samarawickrama (52), Sahan Arachchige (24*).

India vs Sri Lanka Final: Live updates

Sri Lanka continue score at a good pace but they have lost all their in-form batters.

Their last hope Sadeera Samarawickrama and captain Sahan Arachchige are batting together right now and have scored at run-a-ball.

India captain and fielders can be heard on the stump mic that it is just a matter of one more wicket and then Sri Lanka will crumble. And I could not agree more.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (114/3 in 16 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Sadeera Samarawickrama (45*), Sahan Arachchige (17*).

WICKET! Yash Thakur takes 3, SL in trouble

Sri Lanka tried to keep a positive approach but they were not able to sustain it. Nuanidu Fernando, after playing some splendid shots ended up flicking the ball to deep square leg in the 10th over of the match.

And that means that Sri Lanka are now 3 wickets down in the first 10 overs and are in deep, deep trouble.

The new pair of fast bowlers have worked for India.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (75/3 in 10 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Sadeera Samarawickrama (18*), Sahan Arachchige (0*).

Meanwhile, Vipraj Nigam drops a sharp chance off Suryansh Shedge's first over.

After losing to quick wickets, Sri Lanka try to recover themselves with some positive intent.

Sadeera Samarawickrama and Nuwanidui Fernando attack pacer Ashok Sharma and take 15 runs off the pacer's 4th over.

Sri Lanka have a long climb ahead of them, as they chase a mammoth total of 378 runs in the final of the tournament.

The pitch today looks better to bat on than it did before in the previous matches.

Yash Thakur sends back Dickwella, Fernando

Two of Sri Lanka's top batters, who have scored the bulk of the runs in this series, have been sent back.

Coming from around the wicket, Thakur has uprooted the stumps of Dickwella with an angling ball. He is breathing fire right now on the Dambulla pitch.

India are outright favourites to win this game now.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (35/2 in 4.5 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Niroshan Dickwella (25), Avishka Fernando (3).

Jun 21, 2026 14:46 IST

WICKET!

Just when Niroshan Dickewella is going all guns blazing, Avishka Fernando falls in the final ball of the third over.

Terrific ball from Yash Thakur. Fast, on the hard length. Fernando makes the mistake of driving the ball away from his body. Ruturaj Gaikwad, at 3rd slip bags a terrific catch.

He is nearly falling towards his left side while catching the ball, but keeps hold of the ball.

Tri-series, India A vs Sri Lanka A Final Live Score: SL-A (28/1 in 3 ovs) chasing 378 vs IND-A. Niroshan Dickwella (24*), Avishka Fernando (3*).

Sri Lanka start strong in 378-run chase

Well then, Sri Lanka are fighting fire with fire in Dambulla.

Niroshan Dickwella starts the chase by whipping Yash Thakur for a four through the leg side. He doubles down after his first boundary and hits three more in the next 11 balls.

Sri Lanka are off to a terrific start and this is the partnership that can change the complexion of this match for Sri Lanka.

India A will not like the way this chase has started.

IND vs Sri Lanka Final: We are back

Alright then. We are back for the chase.

377 is probably too big a target, but India's bowling has not exactly been as good as their batting in this tournament.

And Sri Lanka have an experienced batting line-up.

Exciting contest ahead.
