Even as wickets fell and Gujarat thought they were coming into the game through Rashid Khan's spell, Kohli anchored the chase. In the 18th over, Kohli hit a boundary and then sealed the game with a six as the RCB players ran on the field to celebrate the win.

As the celebrations went on, Kohli decided to turn to the stands and send a flying kiss in the direction of his wife Anushka.

WHAT KOHLI SAID AFTER THE GAME?

Kohli said that his message to the RCB camp was that the pressure wasn't the same as it was last year, and there was a belief in their ability.

"Well, I said to a few of the boys that it doesn’t feel like the same pressure as last year. We knew what kind of ability we have in the group. We topped the table. There’s a reason why we got here first. And we just said one thing: if we stick to our cricket, if we execute our plans, we are the best team in the comp," said Kohli.
