Nothing b series launching soon, here is what you can expect from it
Nothing is bringing something new, something with a "b". And if growing speculations are anything to go by, this could be the company's next big move in the affordable smartphone segment.

Nothing is bringing something new. A brand-new smartphone lineup with the letter "b" at its centre. What does the b stand for? Well, as the company itself puts it, it stands for nothing. Like for real. But what we do know is that Nothing is preparing to launch an entirely new smartphone series, one that could sit between its existing product categories and potentially fill some of the space left behind by CMF's absence this year.
Over the past few days, Nothing has been sharing cryptic posts centred on the letter "b". The campaign kicked off with the slogan "It's (b)eginning", followed by social media posts carrying captions such as "(b)usted" and animations showing the letter "a" transforming into "b". These teasers have fuelled discussions about what the new branding means and where the B Series will fit within Nothing's existing smartphone lineup.
But now we have some clarity. Responding to growing speculation, Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis explained the thinking behind the new naming convention. According to him, the "b" does not stand for any specific word. Instead, it is part of a broader product naming system where numbers represent generations and letters identify different product segments.
"What does (b) stand for? Nothing," Evangelidis said in a post on X. He added that the B Series is designed to expand Nothing's smartphone portfolio while maintaining a clear hierarchy between different product categories.
At present, Nothing's numbered smartphones serve as its flagship offerings, while the A Series caters to the mid-range segment. The latest devices in that lineup include the Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro. According to Evangelidis, the A Series will continue to be the company's most premium range below its flagship products, while the new b Series will target a different segment altogether.
"The B Series builds on the success of the A Series by expanding into a new segment, while maintaining a clear product hierarchy," he wrote on X.
Although Nothing has not revealed detailed specifications, industry watchers believe the B Series could become the brand's new entry-level or affordable smartphone lineup. The new series could allow Nothing to offer more budget-friendly devices under its main brand while avoiding naming suffixes such as Lite, SE or Plus, which many smartphone makers commonly use.
The timing of the teaser campaign is also notable. It comes shortly after Nothing confirmed that it would not launch a new CMF smartphone this year. Evangelidis recently said the company had been working on a successor, but rising component costs, particularly memory prices, made it difficult to deliver a meaningful upgrade at the right price point.

This has led to speculation that some devices originally planned under the CMF brand could now be repositioned under the Nothing banner. Reports and leaks have suggested that an upcoming device may feature a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a 5,500mAh battery, upgraded materials and a redesigned camera module, although Nothing has not confirmed any of these details.

For now, the company remains tight-lipped about specifications, pricing and launch timelines. However, with teasers already live, a Flipkart listing in place and company executives dropping hints online, it appears that Nothing's next smartphone launch may not be too far away.
