An Indian woman living in Australia helped fulfil her 73-year-old mother's dream of skydiving, capturing the elderly woman's first leap from an aircraft and the sheer joy on her face as she soared through the skies.

Rupali Janbandhu, an Indian fitness and nutrition coach based in Australia, shared the video on her Instagram account, documenting the memorable experience.

The clip opened with glimpses of her mother gearing up for the adventure in a jumpsuit, followed by pictures of the 73-year-old standing beside the aircraft with her tandem instructor.

The video then showed her climbing aboard the plane before transitioning to the highlight of the day.

As the instructor leapt from the aircraft with her strapped securely in front, the septuagenarian could be heard yelling in excitement, stretching her arms out wide and taking in the views below.

Her face lit up with delight throughout the descent, making it clear that the jump was every bit as thrilling as she had imagined. The clip also included moments from the landing, with the 73-year-old appearing all smiles after checking the experience off her bucket list.

Sharing the video, Janbandhu wrote, "Fit to fly at 73. Super proud of you mum."

The video prompted many social media users to talk about how parents often spent much of their lives fulfilling the dreams of their children, and that grown-up children should make an effort to do the same for them.

Several users said that saying "I love you" was important, but helping parents experience things they had always wanted to do was an even more meaningful expression of gratitude.

Others said they admired the 73-year-old's energy and hoped to grow old with the same enthusiasm and sense of adventure. Many described her as an example that age should never be a barrier to trying something new.

Some users said the video had inspired them to think about the dreams their own parents may have quietly put aside over the years. Others remarked that seeing someone in their seventies literally "chase the sky" was both heartwarming and motivating, adding that the elderly woman had shown that bucket lists do not come with an expiry date.
