Bengaluru CA breaks down 10-year KPMG salary journey, from Rs 1.9 lakh to Rs 57 lakh
Anirudh Rapole shared an Instagram video charting his KPMG salary growth from 2013 to 2022. The post drew attention from aspiring chartered accountants seeking a transparent view of career progression.

A chartered accountant from Bengaluru has shared how his annual salary grew from Rs 1.92 lakh as a KPMG article assistant in 2013 to Rs 57.8 lakh as a manager at KPMG Sweden in 2022, offering aspiring CAs a glimpse into his decade-long career journey.
In a post on Instagram, Anirudh Rapole shared a video titled "My salary as a CA at KPMG – Age 18-28", where he documented his earnings from 2013 onwards.
The video traced his journey from an articleship at KPMG India to managerial positions at KPMG Sweden before pursuing an MBA and moving into a leadership role in the corporate sector.
Rapole earned Rs 1.92 lakh during his first year of articleship at KPMG in 2013. His annual compensation rose to Rs 2.52 lakh in 2014 and Rs 3.36 lakh in 2015 during the subsequent years of training.
After qualifying as a chartered accountant, he joined KPMG as a senior in 2016 with a salary of Rs 8.5 lakh plus bonus. By 2018, he had been promoted to assistant manager, drawing Rs 13.5 lakh annually along with bonuses.
Rapole worked at KPMG India from September 2013 to December 2020 before moving to Sweden. There, he joined KPMG Sweden in January 2021 as Assistant Manager 2, earning Rs 46.3 lakh plus bonus. In 2022, he was promoted to manager, with his annual compensation increasing to Rs 57.8 lakh plus bonus.
He also pursued a Master of Business Administration at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, where he majored in Strategy and Marketing between April 2023 and March 2024. He is currently working in Zaggle since April 2026.
In the caption accompanying his video, Rapole described chartered accountancy as a profession that provides opportunities based on merit and perseverance.
"CA is a real equaliser. Open to all. No reservations. Equitable. With hard work and consistency one has a real chance to grow personally and professionally in life as a chartered accountant," he said.
Rapole said he was the first chartered accountant in his family and did not have access to professional guidance while pursuing the qualification. He credited his articleship at KPMG with significantly influencing the direction of his career.
"Doing articleship from KPMG is something that changed the trajectory of my professional career. Forever grateful," he said.
Emphasising that the post was not intended as a comparison of salaries across countries, Rapole urged viewers to consider purchasing power parity and differences in living costs between India and Sweden.
"This is not a post to brag. But to let aspiring CAs get a view of how my life has been over the years as a CA working in a Big4," he added.
The video has attracted attention from students and young professionals, many of whom viewed it as a rare and transparent look at long-term career progression in the chartered accountancy profession.
