When an i10 crashed into a truck on the Ganga Expressway, one passerby chose to stop instead of driving on. His story of rescuing the injured has since gone viral for restoring people's faith in humanity.

The story was shared on X by Supreme Court advocate Aadideo Kumar, who recalled witnessing a horrific accident while driving from Varanasi to Delhi.

"Yesterday, while driving from Varanasi to Delhi on the Ganga Expressway, I witnessed something I will never forget," he wrote.

According to Kumar, an i10 had rammed into a truck after what appeared to be a tyre burst, leaving four passengers trapped inside the mangled vehicle.

"Without thinking twice, I stopped," he wrote, adding that it took nearly 10 minutes to break open the rear door with a metal rod and rescue an elderly woman. When the front door refused to budge, he and other bystanders smashed the windshield to pull the remaining occupants to safety.

Recalling the scene, Kumar wrote, "All were soaked in blood. It was a sight no one should ever have to witness."

He said a couple in their 50s and a few passersby also stopped to help. Together, they worked to rescue the injured before an ambulance arrived.

"As the ambulance was delayed, I carried the injured into my car and drove until we met it halfway," he shared, adding that he also ensured all of the victims' belongings were safely handed over before continuing his own journey nearly one-and-a-half hours later.

The update that followed made the rescue even more meaningful.

"Later, I learned that all had survived. That one piece of news made every second of that rescue worth it," Kumar wrote.

Using the incident as a reminder about road safety, he urged motorists to inspect their vehicles before long journeys.

"Please inspect your vehicle before every long trip. Don't ignore worn tyres, unusual sounds, or warning signs. Reach a little late if you have to, but reach safely," he wrote.

He ended his post with a heartfelt appeal: "Please help when you can. One day, it could be you or someone you love waiting for a stranger to stop."

The post resonated deeply with internet users, many calling Kumar and the other Good Samaritans "real-life heroes."

Several people said the story restored their faith in humanity, while others noted that it was a powerful reminder that even a brief pause to help a stranger can mean the difference between life and death. Many also echoed his message, saying that compassion on the road costs little but can go a long way in saving lives.
