Indore delivery rider jumps to safety as leopard pounces on him in chilling video
A delivery rider escaped after a leopard pounced on him in the outskirts of Indore. The chilling video has gone viral on social media.
A delivery rider had a narrow escape after a leopard pounced on him while he was riding through the outskirts of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The chilling encounter was captured on CCTV.
The video posted by news agency ANI showed the rider travelling along a road when he spotted a leopard approaching from the opposite direction. He immediately brought his motorcycle to a halt as the animal also paused briefly. Moments later, the leopard suddenly charged towards him.
As the leopard pounced on him, the rider jumped off his motorcycle and ran to safety.
Following the incident, officials from the forest department and the Kanadiya police station launched an intensive search operation in the area but were unable to locate the leopard.
Speaking about the incident, Forest Department Ranger Yogesh Yadav said they received information that a leopard had entered a colony near Bicholi Mardana.
"We were informed that a leopard was in the colony. Consequently, the regional rescue team, the entire Indore range staff, and personnel from the Kanadiya police station arrived and conducted an intensive search, but the leopard was not spotted there," he said.
Referring to the CCTV footage, Yadav added, "In the video, we saw that it attacked a delivery boy, though we haven't met him yet. For now, we have conducted an intensive search and haven't spotted anything.”
Forest officials said they remain on high alert and are prepared to launch a rescue operation immediately if the leopard is spotted again.
