Little girl's friendship band heartbreak gets the sweetest ending a year later

A year after a little girl returned home heartbroken from school because none of her classmates gave her a friendship band, the internet is celebrating her joyful comeback.

In the clip from last year, Danika told her father with a sad smile after returning from school, "Papa, maine toh sabko de diya, lekin kisi ne mujhe nahi diya (Papa, I gave friendship bands to everyone, but no one gave one to me).”
In an attempt to comfort her, her father replied, "Sab teri aur meri tarah nahi hote hain na. Aap toh chaar din se friendship band, friendship band bol rahe ho (Not everyone is like you and me. You've been talking about friendship bands for the past four days).”
When he asked why they meant so much to her, Danika simply replied, "Kyunki main apne friends se pyaar karti hoon (Because I love my friends).”
Her father then asked, "Woh aapse pyaar nahi karte (Don't they love you)?”
"Karte hain, lekin woh bhool gaye the (They do, but they forgot)," she had answered.
The reel later revealed that although Danika stayed composed because she knew her father was recording, she broke down after reaching home.
A year later, however, the story took a heartwarming turn.
Danika returned home from school dancing with excitement as she proudly showed her father the friendship bands she had received. She happily pointed to each one, saying she had received three from her friend Lakshit, one from Srishti and two from Manmeet.
"Remember last year no one gave her a friendship band? See what happened today," read the caption accompanying the video.
The wholesome update delighted social media users, many of whom said the video reminded them of their own childhood experiences.
"This brings back memories. I used to feel so bad in school because nobody ever gave me friendship bands, but growing up teaches you that you don't need to have so many friends to be happy," a user commented.
Another comment simply read, "Lakshit, you beautiful baby," while another joked, "Lakshit, can we be friends?" Several users also referred to him as the "real MVP" of the story.
