Meghan Markle is focusing on expanding her business ventures as she and Prince Harry navigate the enormous costs attached to their California lifestyle, according to a report by Page Six.

The report states that the couple’s annual expenses in Montecito, California, stand at nearly $6 million, approximately Rs 51 crore, including private security, staff, property taxes, and mortgage payments for their sprawling mansion.

Citing sources familiar with the couple’s finances, Page Six claimed Markle has increasingly taken charge of the couple’s commercial projects and income streams while Prince Harry continues to focus largely on philanthropic work and his role at mental health company BetterUp.

According to the report, Markle is now concentrating on scaling her lifestyle and commerce-focused ventures after ending her partnership with Netflix-linked projects under her brand As Ever. Page Six also mentioned her involvement with the AI-powered shopping platform OneOff, which allows celebrities to curate fashion and lifestyle recommendations.

The publication further claimed there has been growing discussion around Markle potentially returning to acting or taking on larger entertainment projects to strengthen the couple’s financial position. However, sources close to the Sussexes told Page Six that she is not actively pursuing a full-time television comeback at the moment.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry continues his association with BetterUp, where he has served as Chief Impact Officer since 2021. The report noted that while his role at the company has often drawn public curiosity, he remains involved with the organisation’s mental health initiatives.

Neither Markle nor Prince Harry directly addressed the claims made in the report.
