Pune woman explains why she chose Bengaluru over her comfortable life at home
Alisha explained on Instagram why she chose to move from Pune to Bengaluru for a new job. She said the shift was as much about career growth as learning to live independently at 27.

At a time when many professionals choose jobs based on location, salary or familiarity, one 27-year-old woman chose uncertainty instead.
In a now-viral Instagram video, she explained why she turned down the comfort of staying in Pune and moved to Bengaluru, not just for her career, but to discover what life looked like on her own.
The video was shared by content creator Alisha, who opened up about the reasons behind relocating to Bengaluru despite already having a job opportunity in Pune.
For Alisha, the decision was about more than changing cities. She said Bengaluru's thriving technology ecosystem, startup culture and opportunities to network made it an attractive place to build her career.
As someone who also creates content online, she felt the city offered more chances to collaborate, attend events and connect with like-minded people.
But professional growth was only one part of the story.
In the video, Alisha revealed that she had spent her entire life studying and working close to her family. At 27, she felt it was finally time to leave the familiarity of home and experience independent living.
"Why did I choose Bengaluru over Pune when I already had an opportunity in Pune? First, Bengaluru has a huge tech system with more exposure to companies, even startups, and new technologies. Second, as a content creator, I saw more opportunities to learn, network, and collaborate. But most importantly, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. I've spent my entire life studying and working close to home and my family, and at 27, I felt it was time to experience life on my own. So, here is to a new city, new job, and a new version of me," she said.

Echoing the sentiment in the caption, Alisha wrote that she had chosen Bengaluru "not just for my career, but for myself." She described the move as an opportunity to embrace change, grow independently and build a life beyond the comfort of familiar surroundings.
The video struck a chord with social media users, many of whom said they could relate to the emotions behind leaving home for the first time. While some applauded Alisha for prioritising personal growth over comfort, others shared stories of moving to new cities for work and called it one of the most transformative decisions they had ever made.
Several users also welcomed her to Bengaluru, saying the city had a way of shaping people both professionally and personally.
