Punjab woman drags mother-in-law by hair during argument, clash caught on CCTV
A CCTV video has surfaced online after a scuffle between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law over her granddaughter in Punjabi. Police are reviewing the complaint and footage as claims over the fight and threats are investigated.

A shocking CCTV video from Punjab’s Moga district has captured a violent mother-in-law and daughter-in-law clash that turned a family home into a battleground, with a mother-in-law allegedly dragged by her hair and beaten inside her own courtyard.
The dramatic incident unfolded in Dharamkot, where a routine domestic argument spiralled into chaos, screams and physical violence.
According to the complaint, the daughter-in-law was preparing to leave for her parental home when her mother-in-law allegedly asked her to leave the granddaughter behind. Within moments, the verbal argument exploded into a physical fight.
The CCTV footage allegedly shows the woman grabbing the elderly mother-in-law by the hair, dragging her across the house courtyard and assaulting her as loud screams echoed through the neighbourhood.
The commotion became so intense that neighbours rushed towards the house and intervened to pull the two apart.
The video has now surfaced publicly, triggering shock in the locality.
‘SHE DRAGGED ME BY MY HAIR’
The complainant, Balwinder Kaur, said her son Palwinder Singh married Karamveer Kaur around four years ago.
According to her, the relationship inside the house had deteriorated over the past few months.
“She would abuse us, create fights and leave for her parental home without informing anyone,” Balwinder Kaur alleged.
She claimed the daughter-in-law had earlier left for her parental home in Ferozepur around three months ago and was brought back only after intervention by the village panchayat.
“There was a compromise, but after returning she again started troubling us,” she alleged.
Balwinder Kaur further accused her daughter-in-law and her parental family of harassing them over jewellery and creating constant tension inside the house.
“She threatens to trap us in false cases and even threatens to kill us,” the elderly woman alleged.
Describing Monday’s clash, she said, “We only asked her to leave the granddaughter at home before going. Suddenly she caught my hair, dragged me and started beating me.”
NEIGHBOURS RUSH TO STOP CLASH
Residents living nearby said they heard loud screams and rushed to the spot, where both women were allegedly involved in a fierce fight.
One neighbouring woman said the situation inside the house had become uncontrollable before locals stepped in.
Police confirmed that a complaint has been received and an investigation is underway.
Officials are examining the CCTV footage as part of the probe. No arrests have been made so far.
