Following directions from Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, the hospital administration initiated disciplinary proceedings against the employee.

Dr Pushpendra Kumar, chief medical superintendent of the district hospital, identified the employee as Pinky, a sweeper at the facility.

Officials said her actions amounted to a violation of the Employee Conduct Rules, 1956. Disciplinary proceedings have also been launched under the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1999, according to a statement cited by PTI.

During the suspension period, Pinky has been attached to the AYUSH outpatient department at the district hospital.

A three-member inquiry committee has been constituted to conduct a time-bound departmental investigation. The panel includes orthopaedic consultant Dr Dinesh Pratap Saroj, microbiologist Dr Richa, and sister-matron Sushma Yadav.

Additional Chief Secretary (Medical and Health) Amit Kumar Ghosh has also directed chief medical officers across the state to ensure strict compliance with service conduct rules, warning that mistreatment or inhumane behaviour towards patients will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
