Woman films man making obscene gestures during train journey. Railways reacts
Content creator Rupali Dixit alleged that a man made obscene gestures at her during her journey aboard Vivek Express. After she shared videos and route details online, the authorities said her complaint was registered on RailMadad.

While travelling on the Vivek Express between Bolpur Junction and Dankuni, content creator Rupali Dixit shared how she encountered a man making obscene gestures at her.
The video has since gone viral, with Indian Railways confirming that her complaint has been registered.
Dixit shared the videos on X, claiming the man repeatedly made sexually inappropriate gestures towards her during the journey. One of the clips shows the man looking towards her and gesturing obscenely, while another screenshot shared by Dixit indicated that her train had departed from Bolpur Junction and was heading towards Dankuni.
Describing the incident, she wrote, "Today I was travelling in Vivek Express when I stood at the coach door, this guy behaved badly and gave me signs."
According to her post, the man was travelling in the second general coach of the 15228 SMVT Express, close to the engine, and was expected to reach Dankuni Junction.

The videos quickly gained traction on social media, with many users expressing concern over the alleged harassment and praising Dixit for documenting the incident instead of staying silent. Several people urged the authorities to identify the man and take strict action, arguing that women should not have to feel unsafe while travelling on public transport.
Responding to the viral post, Railways acknowledged the complaint and confirmed that it had been escalated through its grievance redressal platform.
"Your complaint has been registered on RailMadad and complaint no. has been sent through SMS on your mobile no," the official handle replied.
The response was welcomed by many users, who hoped the complaint would lead to appropriate action. Others also used the opportunity to remind passengers to report incidents of harassment rather than ignore them, saying timely reporting can help authorities intervene more effectively.
While some praised the Railways for responding promptly, others said the episode underscored the need for stronger surveillance and stricter action against those accused of harassing fellow passengers.
