A content creator has praised Blinkit's free ambulance service after it helped an elderly woman in her neighbourhood reach a hospital during a medical emergency, saying the experience restored her faith in compassionate healthcare.

In a video shared on Instagram, Komal Khandelwal recounted how an elderly neighbour suffered a heart attack and needed to be taken to a nearby hospital without delay. As family members scrambled to arrange an ambulance, they were reportedly quoted between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 for the trip.

Reflecting on the experience, Khandelwal said the high cost came as a shock at a time when every minute mattered.

"People say that at such times prices don't matter when health is important, but it does matter," she said. "Not everyone is so lucky because going to the hospital is a separate expense."

It was then that someone suggested booking an ambulance through Blinkit's recently launched emergency service.

According to Khandelwal, the ambulance arrived promptly and was fully equipped to handle the emergency. Describing her experience, she called it a "five-star ambulance," saying it came with a wheelchair, stretcher, trained staff, essential medicines and medical equipment required to transport a patient safely.

She also praised the company for making the service available free of cost.

"Blinkit is the most profitable platform right now. I don't think anyone is printing more money than them," she said. "But I will say that I have never seen more humanity than them."

Towards the end of the video, Khandelwal made an emotional appeal to the quick-commerce platform, urging it to continue offering the ambulance service free of charge.

"If this is your marketing strategy that if the need increases, you will put a cost on it, please don't do this," she said. "You are doing a gem of a work."

She added that timely access to an ambulance can often make the difference between life and death.

"Everyone's life is very important, and if someone doesn't have money, that shouldn't become a reason for them to lose their life. Ambulance plays a huge role in reaching the hospital on time. So we already support you a lot. We really order a lot from Blinkit. Please keep it free. And thank you so much."

The video has resonated with many online, with users praising the initiative and expressing hope that affordable or free emergency transport becomes more widely accessible across the country.
