India is one of the leading players in IT industry: President Putin at SPIEF 2026

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday hailed India's role in the IT industry and said it is one of the leading players in the sector. 

Addressing the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, President Putin said, "Our strategic partner, China, has most patents in artificial intelligence. Incidentally, Russia also has very good promising advancements there. Another key partner of ours is India, which is one of the leading players in the IT industry. It accounts for a significant share of the global software market.
