Indian seafarers' safety is of utmost importance to us: PM Modi to Trump

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday raised the issue of Indian seafarers' safety with US President Donald Trump, stating that the safety and security of lakhs of Indian seafarers is of paramount importance to India.

PM Modi said, "Across the world, Indian seafarers in hundreds of thousands are working and performing their duties across global maritime trade routes, including the Strait of Hormuz. And their safety is of the utmost importance to us."
