POK poll violence kills 37, Indian seafarers stuck in Black Sea and more

At least 37 people were killed and over 50 injured in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir during polling violence after security forces cracked down on Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) protesters. JAAC accused Pakistani forces of using live ammunition, while Pakistani authorities denied the allegations, claiming protesters opened fire on security personnel.

Meanwhile, India criticized the polling in PoJK, describing it as a cosmetic electoral exercise designed to hide illegal occupation. In a separate segment on global conflicts, maritime safety concerns were highlighted as merchant vessels were targeted in the Strait of Hormuz and the Black Sea, resulting in the deaths of Indian seafarers and leaving 13 Indian crew members stranded aboard MV Amir R in Chernomorsk, Ukraine.

Finally, outgoing German Ambassador to India Philipp Ackermann shared his reflections on four years of service in New Delhi.
