Andhra Pradesh is stepping up efforts to make it faster and easier for companies to set up businesses in the state, with the government focusing on quicker approvals, digital monitoring and simpler processes.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave – South 2026, TG Bharath, Minister of Industries and Commerce, Andhra Pradesh, said the state had introduced virtual meetings of investment promotion bodies and the cabinet to speed up decisions on projects.
He said these mechanisms can help when investors need quick approvals, especially when they are evaluating multiple states or countries. Once a detailed project report is ready and has gone through the required checks, the approval process can be completed quickly, Bharath said.
The government is also monitoring projects after approval to ensure investments move from announcements to actual implementation. Officials and senior government representatives review project progress, with delays flagged and followed up with the concerned departments.
The minister also explained how the state is handling its policy of offering land at a nominal price to certain large companies. He said eligible companies first enter into a sale agreement and are required to meet their investment and employment commitments. Failure to meet the commitments can lead to cancellation of the agreement.
The state is also developing industrial clusters for sectors including solar manufacturing, drones, automobiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and toys, besides planning MSME parks across constituencies.
The government is further working on an escrow-based incentive system and digital monitoring of clearances to reduce delays and manual intervention.
