Mumbai CJP Protest Highlights: Senior citizen dies of heart attack during CJP stir at Shivaji Park

A 75-year-old man, identified as Gopalakrishna Subbaiya Pillai, died after suffering a heart attack during a CJP protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on Friday. Police said Pillai reached the venue around 4:30 pm and complained of severe chest pain at 5 pm. Friends and police rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.

The rally demanded CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation and a freeze on the Special Intensive Revision process.

Addressing protesters, CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke criticised the Narendra Modi-led government, saying another agitation was needed within two months of the Jantar Mantar protest over the NEET leak issue. He also challenged Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis to arrest protesters. Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS backed the agitation.
