Raghunathpali constituency is one of the 147 seats that make up the Odisha assembly. In the previous 2019 Odisha assembly elections, BJD candidate Subrat Tarai had won from the Raghunathpali seat, polling 44815 votes. BJP candidate Jagabandhu Behera was the runner up with 40131 votes. Located in the Odishas Sundargarh district, the Raghunathpali constituency is a SC category seat and, as of the 2019 election, had 178058 voters.
