The Traitors Telugu: 'Trust is uncool, deception is the new rule,' says Teja Sajja
The trailer of The Traitors Telugu introduces Teja Sajja as the host of Prime Video's Telugu reality show. The 20 contestants must navigate a game of trust, deception and betrayal, with the series premiering on October 15.

Prime Video has announced October 15 as the premiere date for The Traitors Telugu, the Telugu adaptation of the internationally popular reality format. Hosted by Hanu-Man actor Teja Sajja, the series will bring 20 contestants from different walks of life into a game built around alliances, deception and betrayal.
The announcement comes with the trailer for the show, which introduces Teja in his first stint as a reality show host. Unlike a conventional reality competition, The Traitors revolves around hidden identities, with the contestants divided into ‘Innocents’ and ‘Traitors’. While the Innocents attempt to identify the Traitors among them, the latter must remain undetected while eliminating their opponents.
In the trailer, Teja sets the tone for the game with a series of observations about human nature and deception.
“Everybody in the world are good people, until an opportunity to deceive arrives. For love, power, war and victory, deception has not changed even if eras have,” he says.
The host also points to the central challenge of the format: figuring out who can actually be trusted.
“It is easy to spot an enemy, but what about a traitor who acts like a friend? If you cheat one person, its deception, but if you do that to everyone, its a game,” Teja says in the trailer.
He signs off with the show's central philosophy: “Trust is uncool, deception is the new rule here.”
The Traitors Telugu is the latest regional adaptation of the global reality franchise, which has been adapted in more than 30 countries. The Telugu version follows the response to the Hindi edition, which has completed two seasons on Prime Video.
The 10-episode series will stream over four weeks, with new episodes dropping every Thursday at 12 noon IST. The show will be available in Telugu with English subtitles.
The format puts relationships and strategy at the centre of the competition. Contestants will have to work together to complete tasks and build a prize pool, while simultaneously trying to identify the contestants secretly designated as Traitors. The Traitors, meanwhile, must manipulate the group without exposing their identities.
For Teja, the show marks his first outing as a reality show host. The actor, who has appeared in films including Hanu-Man, will now be required to navigate a format where the contestants, rather than the host, drive much of the drama.
The Telugu edition is produced by SOL Productions. Fazila Allana, Partner and Co-Founder of SOL Productions, said the adaptation aims to retain the universal themes of trust, ambition and betrayal while bringing in the cultural flavour of Telugu entertainment.
The series is directed towards audiences familiar with the franchise as well as those discovering the format for the first time. With the identities of the Traitors kept secret from the Innocents, the show will ultimately rely on how well the contestants can read each other — and how convincingly the Traitors can lie.
The Traitors Telugu premieres October 15 exclusively on Prime Video.
