Biker killed by speeding SUV on Delhi flyover days before birthday
A biker was killed after a speeding SUV hit him on the Rajokri flyover, with police detaining the driver. The tragedy has left his family in shock just days before his birthday.
A Gurugram man lost his life after a speeding SUV hit his motorcycle from behind on Delhi's Rajokri flyover, just days before his 34th birthday.
The incident occurred on the morning of June 25, when Sarthak Mattoo was travelling from Gurugram to Noida for work.
A PCR call alerted police to a collision between a car and a motorcycle near the flyover. Sarthak, who suffered critical injuries in the accident, was taken to the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police have registered an FIR under the relevant sections at Vasant Kunj South Police Station. Following a post-mortem examination at Safdarjung Hospital, Sarthak's body was handed over to his grieving family.
Sarthak worked with ENOUT, an event management company in Gurugram. His sudden death has left his parents and family devastated. Instead of preparing to celebrate his birthday, they are now mourning the loss of their son.
During the investigation, police traced the vehicle, which was found to be registered in the name of a Bengaluru-based private company.
Investigators said the SUV had been leased to Sagar Saha (29), a Bihar native employed by the company and posted in Bengaluru. Saha told investigators that he was travelling in the front passenger seat at the time of the crash, while the SUV was allegedly being driven by his friend, Apurv Singh, who works for a private firm and is currently residing in Gurugram.
Police have seized the SUV and apprehended Singh. His medical examination was conducted at Safdarjung Hospital. Further investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
