IndiGo flight suffers tail strike during landing in Bengaluru, aircraft grounded
An IndiGo flight from Guwahati suffered a tail strike during its second landing approach at Bengaluru airport. The aircraft landed safely, all passengers disembarked, and an alternate aircraft was arranged for the Bengaluru-Coimbatore leg.

Flight 6E 6542 carried out a go-around during its initial approach to Bengaluru airport. During the second approach, the aircraft's tail struck the runway while landing.
The aircraft, however, completed the landing safely on the second attempt, and all passengers and crew members disembarked safely.
AIRCRAFT GROUNDED, MAINTENANCE CHECKS UNDERWAY
IndiGo, in a statement, said the aircraft experienced an "Abnormal Runway Contact" while landing amid gusty weather at Kempegowda International Airport.
The airline said the aircraft involved in the incident has been grounded and is undergoing maintenance checks. It will resume operations only after securing the necessary clearances.
"In line with standard operating procedures, all relevant authorities were informed and the aircraft is undergoing maintenance checks," IndiGo said, adding that the safety of its passengers and crew remained its top priority.
Sources said an alternate aircraft was arranged for the Bengaluru-Coimbatore leg to ensure there was no disruption to operations. There was no impact on airport operations following the incident, they added.
DGCA LAUNCHES PROBE
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an investigation into the tail-strike incident involving IndiGo flight 6E 6542 at Bengaluru airport, sources confirmed.
The circumstances surrounding the tail strike are being examined. The incident took place during gusty weather conditions, according to IndiGo.
