J&K man, 24, honey-trapped into sharing sensitive info with Pak agency, arrested
Police in Kathua arrested a 24-year-old truck driver accused of sharing sensitive footage and information with a Pakistan-based agency. The case centres on allegations of honey-trapping, border surveillance and reconnaissance of military installations.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua for supplying sensitive footage and information to a Pakistan-based agency, sources said. Identified as Aman, a truck driver, he allegedly carried out reconnaissance of military installations and tried to gather information and photographs to pass on to Pakistani agents.
Sources said Aman was allegedly honey-trapped, after which he began supplying sensitive information and footage. He was also allegedly receiving directions from Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for espionage and subversive activities.
CCTV CAMERA INSTALLED TO MONITOR BORDER ROAD
Aman had allegedly installed a SIM-based CCTV camera outside his house to monitor a road near the border, sources said. He received Rs 20,000 to install the camera, which was used to capture footage.
The footage was passed on as part of the information he was supplying to the Pakistan-based agency.
PHONE SEIZED, CASE REGISTERED
The Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized Aman's phone and booked him in connection with the case.
The investigation concerns allegations that Aman supplied sensitive footage, conducted reconnaissance of military installations and gathered information and photographs for Pakistan-based agents.
