Jaish terrorist shot dead in J&K's Doda, M4 rifle recovered

Security forces have recovered the body of a terrorist belonging to Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed at Seojdhar forest area in J&K's Doda district. The terrorist was neutralised a few months ago in an encounter with the security forces.

The area connects the Bhadarwah Valley with Udhampur and Kathua and has high-altitude terrain and dense forests.

The recovery came during a joint operation by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. According to police, security forces had already killed the terrorist during an earlier joint operation. They later conducted a search operation in the area and recovered his remains.

Teams from the Special Operations Group (SOG) Doda, Rashtriya Rifles and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jointly recovered the terrorist's remains, Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a post on social media platform X.

After concluding the operation, the police post the message on X, "You Can Run But You Can't Hide", underlining that terrorists may flee but cannot escape security forces and hide from them.

During the search operation, security forces also recovered a US-made M4 carbine rifle. Police said they found the weapon during the same operation. The search therefore led to the recovery of both the terrorist's remains and a modern rifle.

The Seojdhar area has high-altitude and densely forested terrain. It connects the Bhadarwah Valley with parts of Udhampur and Kathua. Such difficult terrain requires security forces to conduct prolonged search operations to locate terrorists.

Following the security forces' action, search and investigation in the area are continuing. Authorities are also examining the recovered weapon and information linked to the terrorist.
