CBI to recreate Twisha Sharma's final moments using dummy, question Giribala Singh
The CBI will recreate the scene at Giribala Singh's residence in its probe into Twisha Sharma's death. The exercise is aimed at verifying statements, testing evidence and reconstructing the events of 12 May.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday conducted a crime scene recreation as part of its ongoing probe into the death of Twisha Sharma. Investigators took Samarth and his mother, Giribala Singh, to their residence, where the incident allegedly took place on the night of May 12, to reconstruct the sequence of events.
As part of the exercise, the agency used an 80-kg dummy representing Twisha Sharma. The dummy was weighed on a weighing machine brought to the site before being used in the reconstruction. Sources said the CBI also arranged two separate dummies of different heights to address discrepancies regarding Twisha's height mentioned in the postmortem report and statements made by her family.
According to Samarth's statement, he was the one who brought Twisha down from the noose, while Giribala Singh allegedly untied the knot. Investigators recreated these actions at the scene to determine whether their version of events is consistent with the physical evidence and circumstances surrounding the case.
The agency is also examining the strength of the ligature, reportedly a belt, to assess how much weight it could withstand. Officials are seeking to verify whether the statements given by the accused align with the forensic evidence collected during the investigation.
Heavy police deployment was maintained around the residence during the exercise to ensure security and maintain order. The crime scene recreation is being viewed as a crucial step in the investigation, as the CBI attempts to establish exactly what transpired on the night of May 12 and corroborate key witness statements and forensic findings.
ARREST CARRIED OUT AFTER ANTICIPATORY BAIL GOT CANCELLED
The CBI arrested Giribala Singh on Thursday, a day after the Madhya Pradesh High Court cancelled her anticipatory bail and overturned the relief granted by a Bhopal sessions court on May 15. Both Giribala Singh and Samarth have been remanded to CBI custody until June 2 as the agency intensifies its investigation into the case.
The agency plans to question the two accused separately before conducting a face-to-face interrogation to verify and compare their statements. Investigators have reportedly questioned Giribala Singh on several aspects of the case, including Twisha Sharma's alleged pregnancy and injuries said to have been found on her body.
DEATH AT IN-LAWS' RESIDENCE
Twisha Sharma was allegedly found hanging at her in-laws' residence in Bhopal's Katara Hills area. Her family subsequently accused her husband and in-laws of dowry-related harassment, prompting demands for a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Earlier, the CBI had taken Samarth to the Katara Hills residence and carried out a detailed crime scene examination with the assistance of a specialised forensic team from Delhi. The team spent several hours at the location conducting videography, photography and evidence collection while questioning Samarth about the events leading up to Twisha's death on the night of May 12.
