Relentless rain triggers floods, cripples normal life in Gujarat's Surat; 9 dead

At least nine people have died in rain-related incidents in Gujarat's Surat district over the past few days as relentless monsoon showers triggered flood-like conditions, widespread waterlogging and disrupted normal life. Water inundated homes, shops and commercial complexes, including ground-floor establishments at Poddar Arcade in Varachha, while public transport and city bus services were severely affected. Officials said more than 3,400 people were rescued and over 3,800 shifted from low-lying areas as authorities responded to the crisis.

Heavy rain triggers waterlogging in Gurugram, work from home advisory issued

The downpour also caused waterlogging and slow-moving traffic across several parts of the national capital. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Delhi for Thursday, warning of extremely heavy rainfall and urging residents to exercise caution as more intense showers are expected throughout the day.
