The Aam Aadmi Party has suspended its Maur MLA Sukhvir Singh over alleged anti-party activities ahead of elections in Punjab. The disciplinary action followed an emotional video released by the legislator, in which he flagged the poor condition of government schools and raised concerns regarding vacant posts for teachers in his constituency. Sukhvir Singh, who sends his own children to a government school, stated that he had repeatedly raised the matter with the state leadership and sought appointments with senior leaders, but his grievances remained unaddressed. In his video, he also challenged the ruling party leadership regarding ticket distribution for the upcoming assembly elections. Following his suspension, opposition parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, criticized the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government, claiming that the administration's claims regarding the education system stand exposed.
