Pune Rural Police have arrested a classmate of prime accused Chetan Chaudhary in connection with the Chetan Agarwal murder case at Lohagad Fort. Named as a co-accused, the suspect has been remanded in police custody until 12 September. According to police sources, Chaudhary and his girlfriend Siya Goyal discussed the murder plan and its execution with the classmate prior to the crime on 18 June. Although he declined requests to accompany them to Lohagad, police suspect he had prior knowledge of the conspiracy. Traced through Chaudhary's phone records and electronic chats, the accused, originally from Beed district and working in Balewadi, is being questioned regarding his involvement in the conspiracy.

Administrative officials in Himachal Pradesh faced scrutiny during a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee review meeting in Mandi over the slow utilisation of MP LAD funds. Out of eleven crore rupees allocated for constituency development, only around fifty lakh rupees had reportedly been spent on the ground. A 16-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted inside a moving sleeper bus travelling approximately 47 kilometres from Pari Chowk in Greater Noida to Kashmiri Gate in Delhi. The incident occurred after the minor boarded the vehicle seeking a lift to Noida amid heavy rain. Delhi Police arrested the bus driver, Kuldeep, and conductor, Sandeep, seizing the vehicle in Timarpur. Forensic investigators recovered fingerprints and physical evidence from the bus, while DNA test reports remain awaited. The families of the accused have claimed innocence. The incident has raised questions regarding inter-state police coordination and vehicle regulatory oversight, as the bus had accumulated 11 traffic violations within 11 months. An investigation into private sleeper buses revealed critical compliance lapses, including non-functional CCTV cameras, inconsistent GPS tracking, and absent emergency panic button systems, exposing safety gaps in public transport safeguards introduced after the 2012 Nirbhaya case.
