Gurugram Hit-and-Run: Accused Detained in Dausa, Police Add Attempt to Murder Charge

The Delhi government is preparing fully equipped hostel facilities with 10,000 beds for students arriving in the national capital. The initiative comes after the building collapse in Satya Niketan, addressing issues related to private paying guest accommodations charging exorbitant rents. The government plans to expand bed capacities across colleges and construct new buildings, focusing initially on North Campus and South Campus areas.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority has escalated its investigation into Apple's software warranty terms in India following complaints from iPhone users regarding display glitches. Several consumers reported green, pink, and white lines on screens as well as audio issues after installing the iOS 18 update, incurring repair costs of around 27,000 to 28,000 rupees. The regulator stated that charging users for hardware problems linked to software updates could violate fair trade principles. Apple has rejected the allegations, arguing that excluding software from warranty coverage is a global industry practice and it cannot insure against every technological risk. If found liable, the company could face penalties, refunds, or mandatory changes to its warranty terms.

Gurugram Police, in coordination with Rajasthan Police, detained Kalyan Bainsla from Dausa in connection with the Gurugram hit-and-run case involving a woman biker. The accused fled from Gurugram to Palwal before heading towards Rajasthan as the video of the incident went viral. Police tracked his movements overnight and detained him in Dausa before taking him back to Gurugram for formal arrest under non-bailable sections, including attempt to murder, registered at the Sector 56 police station. The victim's father welcomed the swift police action and the addition of stringent charges, describing the incident as an attempt to murder rather than a routine road accident. Investigators are collecting CCTV footage, examining the incident route, and recording statements from eyewitnesses, co-bikers, and the accused to complete the investigation and submit a chargesheet in court.

Gurugram hit-and-run accused Kalyan Bainsla was taken into police custody in Rajasthan’s Dausa after his car chased and rammed a woman biker. Another man, identified as Lavneesh, was also detained, with police yet to ascertain his role in the incident.
