Delhi Police have registered a second FIR against an accused influencer, invoking charges of stalking, criminal intimidation, insulting the modesty of a woman, alongside provisions under Section 12 of the POCSO Act for sexual harassment of a child and the Information Technology Act. The police custody of the accused has been extended for one more day following an alleged assault during a protest. Meanwhile, a teenage protester has raised safety concerns over alleged online threats received after filing the complaint. A counter-complaint has also been submitted alleging religious slander. The incident has triggered a political dispute between the ruling party and the opposition over the investigation.

Rescue operations remain the immediate priority following the collapse of a five-storey building where work was underway beneath the structure. Authorities assured that strict action will follow and those responsible will not be spared, emphasizing adherence to the rule of law and due process of investigation. The owner of the collapsed building is currently absconding, with officials locating a residence in Gurugram. Similar buildings in the area will also face scrutiny and decisive legal action once ongoing rescue and investigative processes conclude.

Opposition leaders, along with representatives from the Aam Aadmi Party, questioned municipal and administrative oversight, including the roles of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the New Delhi Municipal Council, demanding strict safety checks and accountability for student housing. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and government representatives emphasised that the immediate priority must remain focused entirely on rescue operations to save those trapped under the debris. Officials stated that local representatives reached the site promptly, confirming that an investigation will be conducted and strict action taken against anyone found guilty.

Rescue operations have intensified at a collapse site in Delhi, with the National Disaster Response Force deploying seventy personnel alongside Delhi Police, civil teams, the Rapid Action Force, Central Ambulance Trauma Services, and twelve fire tenders. Teams on the ground are conducting multi-pronged search operations using advanced high-tech equipment, live detectors, and canines to locate survivors beneath the debris. Rescuers are also conducting breaching and cutting operations in rotation. Several individuals have been pulled out and hospitalised under medical observation as rescue teams work to clear the site.
