At the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon member states to dismantle the entire ecosystem of terrorism, including terror financing, recruitment, radicalisation, and safe havens. Highlighting the need to move beyond an action-reaction mindset, he stressed that there can be no room for double standards on terrorism and that no nation should use terror as an instrument of state policy or consider it a strategic asset. The Prime Minister underscored that tackling terrorism and transnational crimes such as narcotics trafficking is essential for regional security, Eurasian connectivity, and economic opportunity. He also addressed the West Asia crisis, advocating for dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward. Emphasising a long-term vision for the organisation, he urged member nations to work together transparently to build a secure environment across the Eurasian landmass over the coming decades.

A green-painted house has emerged as one of the most striking images from the devastating floods in Nepal, standing almost completely intact while buildings, vehicles and other structures around it were swept away by raging floodwaters. India Today reached the house, located in the flood-hit Trishuli region, which became the focus of viral footage showing floodwaters and debris surging around it as a terrified family remained trapped on its balcony. The family was later rescued. Reports, citing an analysis by architectural experts, suggested that the house was built with a reinforced-concrete frame and continuous steel reinforcement, giving it a rigid structural skeleton capable of withstanding the powerful lateral forces generated by the floodwaters. Its location, slightly away from the main debris channel and on relatively higher ground, may also have helped, allowing the water to split around the building rather than hit it directly. The solitary house, surrounded by widespread destruction, has since been dubbed a "miracle house", a striking symbol of survival amid one of Nepal’s worst recent flood disasters.

A special five-judge bench of the National Company Law Tribunal has stayed an earlier order concerning the settlement of Essel Group's 22,000 crore rupee debt for 6.5 crore rupees. The tribunal issued notices to Essel Group chief Subhash Chandra and lenders in the Zee Entertainment insolvency case, clarifying that the earlier approval of the resolution plan was not a final or majority view. The bench observed differing opinions among earlier members and ruled that the guarantor cannot sell or alienate any assets. The special bench will hear all lenders and stakeholders on the matter.
