Mohan Bhagwat has maintained the dignity of RSS, says S Gurumurthy

RSS ideologue S. Gurumurthy, in an exclusive interview with India Today TV, decoded PM Modi's praise for Mohan Bhagwat on his 75th birthday. Gurumurthy said RSS sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat's greatest contribution has been managing a period of 'prosperity' and acceptability, rather than adversity. He claimed Mr. Bhagwat has maintained the RSS's distinct identity in the face of the 'huge phenomenon of Modi' and also maintained the dignity of the functioning of the stature of the sarsanghchalak. He countered the notion that the RSS has become more politicised, calling it a regular charge faced by the organisation during various phases, including the JP movement. Addressing the rumoured 75-year retirement age, he cited that L.K. Advani became BJP president at the age of 77. Gurumurthy described the relationship between the RSS and the BJP as parallel but with connectivity, where the RSS accepts the government's final decisions on policy matters due to its greater endowment with knowledge on the subjects.

While the two galleries displaying the flagged works were cleared, the remainder of the exhibition is scheduled to continue through Sunday, with plans underway to showcase the excluded photographs at alternative venues in Delhi and Bengaluru.
