Efforts are underway to organise a joint meeting followed by an opposition media briefing to formalise their campaign. Parties including the Trinamool Congress, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Aam Aadmi Party, and regional groups are being approached to form an expanded front. Concurrently, public demonstration ultimatums have been issued demanding institutional accountability. NDA allies have also underscored the importance of institutional transparency, urging the Election Commission of India to publicly clarify concerns and uphold public trust in democratic electoral processes.

Opposition parties are uniting to seek the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, with Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee reaching out to long-time political rival CPI(M) and holding discussions with Rahul Gandhi to convene an all-opposition meeting in Delhi. An accused in the attack on Assistant Sub-Inspector Jaswant Singh was shot dead in a police encounter in the Jhandher area of Amritsar. The suspect, identified as Karanvir Singh, had previously slipped away from custody after being arrested. When Amritsar Rural Police intercepted him, he opened fire, prompting retaliatory gunfire that resulted in fatal bullet injuries. Two Punjab Police personnel sustained injuries during the shootout, with one hit in the thigh and another saved by a bulletproof jacket. Police stated that Karanvir fired upon the ASI in Ajnala earlier in the month.

The arrest of eighty-four-year-old industrialist R. Veeramani under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has triggered a political controversy in Tamil Nadu. Veeramani, founder of GEM Granites, faces allegations of sexually abusing multiple minors over several years at a rented premises. Police have arrested four individuals so far, including his close aides Mahendra Simhan, Shanthi, and Ganeshan. An all-women Special Investigation Team has been formed to probe the case. Investigators are also examining financial transactions involving around seventy crore rupees and a property deal allegedly used to facilitate the crimes and suppress complaints. The case was previously dropped by police citing unclear video evidence from a whistleblower pen drive, before a special court directed a reinvestigation. The development has sparked a sharp political confrontation between the DMK and TVK over allegations of administrative inaction and cover-ups.
