BJP Concludes Nationwide Campaign In Haryana, Rebuts Opposition Allegations On SIR

Addressing the concluding day of the Bharatiya Janata Party's nationwide 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' campaign in Haryana, senior leadership countered allegations regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral lists. The rally detailed the breakdown of removed voters from the rolls, specifying that 2.8 crore deceased individuals, 6.25 crore citizens who migrated to other states, and one crore individuals registered in multiple locations were removed, alongside unverified entries. The address questioned irregularities found in draft electoral rolls, including unnatural household numbers, while asserting that correcting voter rolls is the constitutional responsibility of the Election Commission. The Congress party was criticised for repeatedly disrupting parliamentary proceedings instead of engaging in institutional debate. Highlighting the central government's governance track record, the speech noted welfare outreach initiatives, including free ration distribution, health insurance coverage, tap water connections, and Minimum Support Price coverage on 24 crops in Haryana, challenging opposition claims on welfare delivery and institutional neutrality.

Delhi Chawri Bazar Building Collapse Kills 2; 7 Feared Trapped as NDRF Clears Debris by Hand

A building collapsed in the Gali Satara area of Chawri Bazar in Old Delhi, leaving two people dead, one injured, and an estimated six to seven people feared trapped beneath the debris. The incident occurred during the bustling pre-Diwali festive season in one of the city's oldest and most congested commercial and residential markets. Rescue personnel from the National Disaster Response Force and Delhi Police faced severe operational challenges, as the narrow four-foot lane made it impossible to bring in heavy machinery. Rescuers were forced to clear rubble by hand, significantly slowing operations. The site was reportedly an under-construction structure that locals alleged was being built illegally without regulatory oversight. The local District Magistrate arrived at the scene as emergency teams barricaded the area into a green corridor to facilitate rescue efforts.

Old Delhi Building Collapse: 2 Dead, Several Trapped As Congested Lanes Stall Heavy Rescue Machines

A three-storey building has collapsed in the congested Gali Satara area of Chawri Bazar in Old Delhi, leaving two people dead, one injured, and several others feared trapped beneath the rubble. Delhi Police sources confirmed that search and rescue operations are underway with teams from the NDRF and Delhi Fire Service on site. Extremely narrow approach roads have completely prevented heavy machinery, cranes, and JCBs from entering the area, forcing rescue workers to clear nearly 10 feet of debris manually by hand. Authorities have barricaded the surrounding market streets to create a corridor for ambulances and medical personnel. Preliminary reports indicate the structure was undergoing illegal construction without requisite permissions when it collapsed.
