Nitin Nabin: 'Democracy is Completely Safe in Narendra Modi's Hands'

Addressing a rally of traders at Chandni Chowk in Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Nabin affirmed that Indian democracy remains entirely secure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Drawing an analogy to the traditional ledger books balanced by businessmen ahead of Diwali, Nabin likened the electoral rolls to democracy's ledger, declaring that legitimate citizens will be enrolled while illegal infiltrators and duplicate entries will be expunged. Launching a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Nabin accused the opposition of ignoring constitutional principles to serve dynastic interests. Expressing confidence in the Prime Minister's enduring leadership, Nabin said, '2029 mein isi Lal Qile ki prachir mein phir se nazar aayenge', asserting that Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag at the Red Fort once again.

Centre Notifies E100 Fuel Rules, Sets Emission Norms, Clarifies Regular Car Limits

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has notified amendments to Rule 115 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989 to formally recognise E100 fuel alongside E85. The notification, issued on the 26th of October, establishes a regulatory and technical framework governing vehicle emission certification and testing for models designed to run on high ethanol concentrations. The revision does not permit regular petrol or internal combustion engine vehicles to run on E100. Currently, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR Flex Fuel remains the only passenger car model unveiled in India with E100 compatibility. Tracing India's ethanol journey from pilot blending in 2001 to reaching 20 percent blending levels in 2025-26, the report notes international precedents in Brazil, the United States, Thailand, and France. However, domestic motorists have expressed concerns over lack of fuel choice, potential engine damage, and diminished vehicle mileage.

Spain High-Speed Train Collision: At Least 30 Dead in Andalusia Crash, Probe Ordered

A catastrophic collision between two high-speed passenger trains in Spain has left at least 30 people dead and numerous others severely injured. The accident occurred in a countryside area in the Andalusia region on a line connecting Madrid to the southern part of the country. According to details shared during the broadcast, one intercity passenger train struck another from behind on the exact same track, causing compartments to derail. Emergency services and local residents immediately launched rescue operations at the site, assisted by helicopters and drones. Officials in Madrid are set to initiate an investigation into how both trains were cleared on the same track and whether technical malfunction, signalling failure, or human negligence caused the disaster. The incident follows an earlier accident on the same rail corridor nine months prior, prompting serious questions about rail safety protocols and operator accountability.

Israel Election Too Close To Call: Netanyahu Leads Bloc, Gantz Trails, Coalition Race On

Israel faces political uncertainty as election results remain too close to call between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and challenger Benny Gantz. With over 70 percent of votes counted, Netanyahu's Likud-led bloc has emerged as the largest bloc in parliament but remains short of an outright majority. Benny Gantz celebrated his bloc's strong performance and declared that the public rejected Netanyahu, demanding he step down. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump claimed credit for the right-wing bloc's showing, asserting Netanyahu won due to his backing. Analysis on the ground indicates neither side holds a clear path to government formation, raising the prospect of complex coalition negotiations, political horse-trading, or potential fresh elections. The election, held amid wartime conditions, focused heavily on border security, post-October 7 accountability, and the escalating cost of living. A hung parliament could allow Netanyahu to continue as caretaker prime minister while coalition timelines unfold under Israeli constitutional rules.
