Delhi Police HQ Stir, BNS 163 Defied & Detentions Condemned by Left Groups

Left-wing student organisations and women activists gathered outside the Delhi Police headquarters on Ashoka Road to protest against recent police action and detentions. The agitation follows the detention of All India Students' Association president Neha Bora and earlier actions against student leaders. Demonstrators from groups including the All India Democratic Women's Association, Students' Federation of India, Krantikari Yuva Sangathan, and Left bodies assembled despite the imposition of Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita across New Delhi. Protesters raised slogans, displayed placards against alleged police brutality, voter rigging, and mistreatment of female demonstrators, and demanded accountability from senior officials. Multi-tier security arrangements featuring the Delhi Police, Central Reserve Police Force, and Rapid Action Force were deployed to fortify the headquarters perimeter. The demonstration remained largely non-violent with sloganeering, as police monitored the gathering amid prohibitory orders.

2023 Mumbai Jet Crash: AAIB Flags Pilot Error, Unstabilised Approach & VSR Lapses

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau released its final report into the September 2023 Mumbai charter jet crash involving a VSR Learjet. The probe flagged serious pilot errors, noting an unstabilised approach led to a low-altitude stall that the flight crew failed to recover from. Investigators stated that the pilots ignored a rising speed cue, delayed calling for a go-around, and pressed on with an unsafe approach amid landing deadline pressure, high tailwinds, and marginal weather conditions. The crash left the wings detached and injured two pilots and six passengers. The report also pointed out operator lapses in record maintenance and internal audits, urging the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to enforce stricter pilot training checks.
