Canara Bank has opened applications for 3,500 graduate apprentice training posts for the financial year 2026–27. The online registration process began on October 1, and eligible candidates can apply through the bank’s official website until October 17.

The apprenticeship offers graduates an opportunity to gain practical experience in banking through on-the-job training. However, candidates should check the eligibility conditions before applying.

3,500 POSTS, BUT WHO CAN APPLY?

According to the official notification, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational qualification: A degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

  • Graduation dates: Candidates must have completed their degree between January 1, 2023, and September 1, 2026.

  • Age limit: Applicants must be between 20 and 28 years as of September 1, 2026.

  • Age relaxation: Five years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, three years for Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer), and 10 years for persons with benchmark disabilities.

  • Previous training: Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or have one or more years of job experience after completing their qualification are not eligible.

WHAT WILL SELECTED CANDIDATES GET?

The apprenticeship training will last 12 months, with candidates placed at selected bank branches.

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 16,650, including the government subsidy. They will not be treated as regular bank employees and will not receive employee benefits. The bank is not obligated to offer them regular employment after training.

HOW TO APPLY FOR CANARA BANK APPRENTICESHIP

Candidates must first register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal at nats.education.gov.in and complete their profile. They will receive an enrolment number, which is required for the bank application.

To apply:

  • Visit canarabank.bank.in and open the Careers section.

  • Select Recruitment and click on the graduate apprenticeship notification for 2026–27.

  • Complete the registration and application form.

  • Upload the required photograph, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration.

  • Pay the applicable fee and submit the form.

The application fee is Rs 500 for candidates in other categories. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and persons with benchmark disabilities candidates are exempt.

HOW WILL SELECTION TAKE PLACE?

Selection will be based on a state-wise merit list prepared using Class 12 or diploma marks. Candidates must have at least 60 per cent marks, or 55 per cent for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and persons with benchmark disabilities candidates.

Document verification, a local-language test where applicable, and medical fitness are also required.
