Mirzapur: The Movie has cleared its latest release hurdle ahead of its theatrical debut. The Gurmmeet Singh directorial, which brings the popular Mirzapur universe to the big screen on September 4, received 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on August 29. The film also comes with a hefty runtime of 197.19 minutes (approximately 3 hours and 17 minutes).

Ali Fazal returns as Guddu Pandit, Pankaj Tripathi reprises his iconic role as Kaleen Bhaiya, and Divyenndu is back as Munna Tripathi. The return of the core cast has already heightened anticipation among fans of the series.

According to details listed on the CBFC website, Mirzapur: The Movie received its certification on August 29. The film has a reported runtime of 197.19 minutes, making it approximately 3 hours and 17 minutes long.

The official synopsis listed on the CBFC website reads: “The battle for Mirzapur's throne escalates as old enemies resurface and new threats emerge. Blood debts must be paid while power-hungry contenders fight to control the city's violent underworld.”

The synopsis suggests that the battle for power will remain at the heart of the film, with old rivalries resurfacing and new threats challenging the existing order.

Alongside Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi and Divyenndu, several members of the original ensemble are returning. Abhishek Banerjee reprises Compounder, Harshita Gaur returns as Dimpy Pandit, Shriya Pilgaonkar as Sweety Gupta, Shweta Tripathi as Golu Gupta and Rasika Dugal as Bina Tripathi.

Mohit Malik, Sonal Chauhan and Ravi Kishan are also part of the ensemble, adding to the film’s star-studded cast.

With the Mirzapur gangsters finally moving from streaming to theatres, the September 4 release marks a new chapter for the popular franchise.
