Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has been airlifted to Mumbai after suffering a spinal fracture in an accident in Bali during a work-cum-holiday trip. Her team said in an official statement that she had been hospitalised in Bali and is set to undergo spine surgery following further evaluation by doctors.
The actor’s team arranged for her return to Mumbai in an air ambulance for further treatment. Given the nature of the injury and the surgery, Nushrratt is expected to take time off to rest and recover, and her work commitments over the next few weeks are also likely to be affected.
In its statement, the team earlier said, “Nushrratt Bharuccha, who was in Bali for a work-cum-holiday trip, met with an unfortunate accident and suffered a fracture in her spine. She is currently hospitalised in Bali and remains under medical observation. Following further evaluation by the doctors, Nushrratt will be undergoing spine surgery," the statement read.
The statement added that the actor’s health and medical care remain the immediate priority.
Her team said that, because of the injury and the surgery, Nushrratt would need time away from work to focus on recovery. It also requested privacy for the actor during this period and thanked people for their concern and good wishes.
“We request everyone to respect her privacy at this time and allow her the space to focus on her treatment and recovery. We are grateful for everyone’s concern and good wishes and will share further updates as and when appropriate,” the statement said.
Further details about Nushrratt’s condition and treatment will be shared by her team when appropriate, while her immediate focus remains on surgery, treatment and recovery in Mumbai.
