Watch: PM recalls 1st New Zealand visit, unwraps 30-year-old memory with muffler

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday brought back a muffler gifted to him during his first visit to New Zealand nearly three decades ago, recalling the warmth and affection he received on that trip. Addressing a community event in Auckland, PM Modi said that although it was his first visit to the country as Prime Minister, he had travelled there 25-30 years ago before entering public life. He shared that a New Zealander had gifted him a muffler, a cap and a pair of gloves during that visit, and revealed that he had brought the same muffler to the event. "I used it several times over the years and I take care of it even today, just like I take care of your love for me," PM Modi said, drawing applause from the audience.

Video: Landslide buries two parked cars in Shimla amid heavy rain

Two parked cars were buried under rocks and debris after a landslide struck the Rajhana area on the outskirts of Shimla on Saturday amid heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh. Dramatic visuals from the site showed the vehicles crushed under massive boulders after a hillside gave way, though no casualties were reported. The landslide came as moderate to heavy rain battered the state, triggering multiple weather-related incidents, including the collapse of a bailey bridge installed last year near Sangla bus stand and floodwater inundating a single-storeyed house while threatening several others in Kinnaur district. The local weather department said Nahan recorded the highest rainfall at 158.9 mm since Friday evening, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for moderate to heavy rain at isolated places in Shimla, Kullu, Chamba, Bilaspur and Sirmaur districts.

Video: School bus turns into massive fireball on busy road in UP's Ghaziabad

A school bus caught fire on Ghaziabad’s Meerut Road on Saturday morning, triggering panic among commuters and residents in the area. The bus was completely engulfed in flames within minutes, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky. The video shows that the bus belonged to Delhi Public School (DPS), Ghaziabad. However, a major tragedy was averted as no students were present inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. The driver managed to escape safely after stepping out of the bus in time. The fire department received information about the blaze at around 9.26 am, following which two fire tenders from the Kotwali fire station were rushed to the spot. Firefighters found the CNG-fitted bus completely surrounded by flames and launched an operation using hose lines and hose reels. After sustained efforts, the fire was brought under control. While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, officials suspect a possible technical fault. The blaze also led to a brief disruption in traffic movement on Meerut Road as a crowd gathered at the spot after witnessing the intense flames and smoke.
