Skipper of South Africa - Temba Bavuma says that it was another good all-round team performance. Adds that with the bat, despite losing two wickets early they survived the challenge and then with the ball did the same as well.

Skipper of Australia - Mitchell Marsh says that it was a disappointing performance from the team, as they had a chance to drag the series to the last game by keeping it alive but they failed to do so, adding that in both games the middle order has faltered and it is a learning curve for the lads in those positions. Mitchell Marsh reckons that Jack Edwards and Xavier Bartlett are good young guys and to put in a performance like that with both the bat and the ball leads them to a bright future ahead. Marsh closes by saying that he does not want to be whitewashed and will be looking forward to the last game and try and win that.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - David Miller wins the award for his sensational knock of 142 off 93 balls. He says it was a great feeling to register his highest ODI score, with his previous best also coming against Australia. He says Australia's competitive nature and their ability to constantly challenge opponents bring out the best in players, adding that it was good to compete against a top side and contribute to a big team effort in a winning cause. Reflecting on the conditions and his partnership with Temba Bavuma, Miller says Bavuma was incredibly solid and played an outstanding knock. He explains that the surface offered some slow bounce, so the pair focused on rotating the strike and feeding each other with runs before gradually moving through the gears. Miller adds that the length of an ODI innings gave them plenty of time to build the partnership and take the game deep, making it particularly enjoyable to bat alongside Bavuma. Miller also speaks about having his mother's name on the back of his shirt as part of South Africa's Pink Day initiative. He says she has been through a lot over the last couple of years and describes it as a special initiative that allows the players to represent different people through the names on their shirts. Miller adds that it was particularly meaningful to represent his mother and everything she has been through, with the century and their victory making the occasion even more special

Edwards fights back amid the onslaught - Despite getting tonked for 365 runs, the Australian bowling unit saw a heroic individual effort from Jack Edwards, who claimed a stellar 5-wicket haul. He was well-supported by Josh Hazlewood, who picked up 3 wickets, and Xavier, who chipped in with a solitary scalp. While the rest of the bowling attack struggled to contain the Proteas' scoring rate on a batting-friendly surface, these crucial breakthroughs prevented the score from swelling even further, keeping a small window of hope alive for the visitors.

Centurions power massive first innings - The South African batting order stepped up to deliver a masterclass, posting a mammoth 365 runs on the board. We are moments away from the start of the game, but before that, players from both sides make their way out to the middle and line up for the national anthems. It will be Australia's first followed by that of the home nation, South Africa.

Time to hear from the other camp - Australia's Cooper Connolly says they have taken plenty of learnings from their defeat in the opening ODI and are keen to put them into practice in the second game. He highlights South Africa's two left-arm spinners as a particular threat, with the visitors working on plans to counter them in the remaining matches. Connolly adds that they will look to stick to their processes, play to their individual strengths and minimise the impact of the spin duo as they look to bounce back. On handling the pressure, Connolly says staying relaxed and focusing on their processes will be key, with them confident in their ability to challenge South Africa on their day. Away from the cricket, he reveals that drum and bass features heavily on his playlist and says he enjoys singing whatever is playing around the ground to keep himself relaxed, while also looking to get the change room energised before the game.

Pre-match thoughts - South Africa's Marco Jansen on his batting innings in the previous ODI, says, it was a tricky one and two overs in, he just told Matthew Breetzke that listen he is going to play his way now and it is always nice to play with Matt and to put another one in the bank for the Proteas is a really nice one.

PITCH REPORT - Shaun Pollock notes that it is pretty hot with a breeze blowing across the ground towards the smaller boundary on the scoreboard side, which captains and players will need to factor into their tactics, and explains that playing in the Highveld is all about the fast bowlers' control and their ability to find shape with the new ball, making it interesting to see how batters and bowlers handle it. While adding that the surface itself looks good with not much green grass as it is early in the season but with decent covering on a good length, so the ball should come through nicely and it is no surprise to bowl first with some moisture and nip expected early on. Shaun adds that with South Africa fielding two spinners, he expects the pitch to be dry enough to offer turn later in the day after being under the sun for several hours.

A 'Pink Day' at the Wanderers - This game carries extra significance as it doubles up as South Africa’s annual Pink Day fixture, with the Proteas donning their pink kit in support of breast cancer awareness. Adding a personal touch to the occasion, the names of cancer survivors will feature on the back of the South African players’ shirts, honouring those who have battled the disease. The initiative also aims to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer care, making this more than just another ODI for the Proteas and their supporters.
