Cobolli books his place in a second Wimbledon quarter-final and celebrates the milestone with Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark celebration.

He beats Minaur 7-5,7-6 (4), 6-3 to advance to quarters.

Using some inventive and unorthodox shot-making, she has fought her way back into contention. Eala also saved three break points to edge closer to claiming the second set.

Under pressure deep behind the baseline after scrambling to chase down a lob, Flavio Cobolli produces a brilliant forehand winner that draws a loud reaction from the crowd.

He is made to work hard for the point, with Alex de Minaur showing remarkable defence from the back of the court, but the Italian eventually finds the decisive shot.

Cobolli then capitalises on a second serve, stepping in to fire a forehand return winner and quickly earning three set points.

Cobolli is now two sets up and has one foot in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

It's 5-7 6-7 (4-7) in Cobolli's favour.

Paolini 6-4 2-2 Eala

Jasmine Paolini responds immediately to Alexandra Eala’s early advantage, producing an excellent game to break straight back.

The Italian continues to attack Eala’s second serve, mixing crisp forehands with sharp net play and fine touch to regain control of the set.

Cobolli produces two winners to move to 0-30 and lift Italian hopes before Alex de Minaur rushes the net and sends a forehand long after a deep return.

The Italian earns three break-back points and converts as De Minaur drags a forehand wide.

Cobolli roars in celebration as he breaks back to get himself back on serve in the second set.

He is enjoying a great stretch here as he holds his serve to get level in the second set. It's 7-5, 5-5 in Cobolli's favour.

Alexandra Eala is finding her way back into this contest. She was down 2-5, but she has broken Jasmine Paolini's serve and it's now 4-5 in the first set.

Can Eala, the leftie, counter Paolini's power today?

Alexandra Eala, who was already enjoying something of a breakout season with wins over Elena Rybakina and Coco Gauff, was thrust into the spotlight on Saturday when she sent defending champion Iga Swiatek crashing out of Wimbledon.

The 21-year-old Filipina now has 2024 Wimbledon finalist Paolini in the crosshairs, but she is taking nothing for granted despite having already beaten the Italian in straight sets in Dubai earlier this year.

"She is a great fighter. It was not an easy match in Dubai for me. It will not be an easy match here either," Eala told reporters.

Well, the backflip will come only when she wins the title on Sunday, says Marta Kostyuk after storming into the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon.

The Ukranian has been in fine form in the ongoing clay and grass season. Watch out for her progress this season.

French Open semi-finalist and Ukrainian 12th seed Marta Kostyuk brushed aside American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger 6-4, 6-4 to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time.

This is the first time she is reaching the quarterfinals of two Grand Slams in a season.
