Talks of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Glasses have been in the air for months; they may appear only within a few months, but details about a companion app, which is said to manage the device, are now surfacing online.

The details come from SammyGuru, which managed to install the app and walk through its setup process. According to the report, the app takes users through putting the glasses into pairing mode and connecting them to a phone, and it will serve as the central hub for managing settings, installing software updates, and turning features on or off.

What the App reveals about Galaxy Glasses

The photo shared by SammyGuru, the app's main screen, shows the paired glasses at the top, along with what appears to be a battery level indicator. Users will also have the option to automatically import photos and videos captured with the glasses to their phone.

Other menu options include AI assistants, read notifications aloud, which suggests the glasses will be able to read incoming alerts without the user having to check their phone, Advanced features, Accessibility, and Find my glasses, a feature similar to Find My Device that could help users track down a misplaced pair. There are likely more settings hiding deeper in the app, but without an actual pair of glasses to connect, that's about as far as things could go.

On the software side, the glasses run One UI XR, the same platform used on Samsung's Galaxy XR headset. That platform is built on Android XR, which was developed through a collaboration between Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm.

Integration with Galaxy watch and Galaxy ring

The report also hints that Samsung is planning to tie the Galaxy Glasses into its broader wearable ecosystem. A dedicated Galaxy Glasses Controller app appears to be in the works for Galaxy Watches, which would let users control the glasses straight from their wrist. And if that wasn't enough, there are reported signs that the Galaxy Ring could also get in on the action, with code strings in the app pointing to gesture controls for the glasses through a receiver component.

As for when we'll officially see the Galaxy Glasses, Samsung has a Galaxy Unpacked event lined up for July 22 in London. There may be another teaser there, but a full launch is still expected later this fall.
