An auto driver in Bengaluru has continued a quiet ritual for his late wife, decorating his vehicle with flowers and keeping her photograph beside him even eight years after her death.
Instagram user Sooraj S Kurup shared a video of the emotional encounter, after coming across the elderly driver and noticing the flowers arranged neatly at the front of his auto.
In the video, Sooraj pointed his camera towards the driver and asked him who the flowers were meant for. The driver smiled and pointed towards a photograph of his wife, explaining that she had passed away eight years ago.
He then shared that he had a son, a daughter and six grandchildren. When Sooraj asked why he continued driving his auto instead of staying at home, the driver explained that sitting at home would leave him with too much time to think.
Instead, he said he drove his auto every day and spoke to people along the way to keep himself occupied. The flowers and his wife's photograph remained part of his daily routine, quietly keeping her presence close to him.
