Hyderabad Man Found Dead In US Under Suspicious Circumstances, MP Urges Consular Help For Family

An 81-year-old man, Asgarali Vora, who studied with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at BN School in Vadnagar, Gujarat, has recovered his disputed property after seeking the Prime Minister's intervention. Vora had purchased approximately 2,800 square metres of land in the Mira-Bhayander area in 1989. In 2011, the names of two developers, including a firm owned by a BJP MLA, appeared on the land records, which Vora alleged was done through forgery. Following police complaints and legal battles, Vora met Prime Minister Modi on 8th September to demand an inquiry. Following the meeting, Seven Eleven Construction confirmed they settled the issue with the Vora family and agreed to hand back the land.

The Chennai Crime Branch has intensified its investigation into an alleged 100 crore rupees fraud involving private schools in Tamil Nadu. Searches were conducted at the residence of the former school education minister following allegations that money was collected from school managements for government approvals, recognition, and statutory clearances. A functionary was previously arrested in connection with the case. The opposition has termed the action political vendetta, while authorities continue probing the financial trail and regulatory clearances linked to the alleged scam.

India's Ministry of External Affairs has reiterated its condemnation of attacks on the sovereign territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressing grave concern over actions that endanger civilian lives and critical infrastructure. The reaction follows claims by Saudi Arabia that its air defence forces intercepted and destroyed drone and projectile threats launched by Yemen's Houthi militia before they could reach areas near the holy city of Mecca. Riyadh issued emergency warnings and declared that the security of Mecca remains a strict red line. The escalation highlights widening tensions across West Asia and the Red Sea, where Houthi forces have targeted commercial shipping and energy infrastructure while tightening control over key maritime routes near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Although the Indian government statement condemned the strikes on Saudi territory and highlighted the city's global religious importance, it refrained from naming the Houthi militia directly.

The Managing Director and Head of Meta India has arrived at the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights premises in Delhi following a summons over child sexual exploitative and abuse material advertisements. The child rights body had previously issued a notice seeking explanations regarding revenue, traction, and the lack of content checks. The Indian government has instructed Meta to follow domestic rules, mandate the registration of police FIRs in jurisdictions where incidents occur, and ensure independent internal checks and balances. Meta is also required to submit reports under the Home Ministry's Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre to address illicit content across social media platforms.
