Nepal Floods: 2 Workers Rescued Alive From Trishuli Hydropower Tunnel

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched its first dedicated geostationary imaging satellite, EOS-05, aboard the GSLV-F17 rocket from Sriharikota. Operating from a geosynchronous orbit around 36,000 kilometres above Earth, the satellite enables continuous regional observation to aid weather monitoring, agriculture, water resource assessment, disaster management, and strategic surveillance. The mission precisely injected the satellite into its intended transfer orbit, overcoming a previous mission setback from August 2021.

Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for praising the Owaisi brothers, questioning the definition of patriotism by asking, "To insult Vande Mataram is patriotism?" Rao argued that the Chief Minister lacks the authority to give certificates of patriotism and alleged that he remains more loyal to Rahul Gandhi than the country. He clarified that any decision regarding potential party entries lies solely with the BJP national high command, stating there has been no contact with her.

In an interview with India Today, former Chief Economic Advisor KV Subramanian strongly defended India's GDP calculation methodology and dismissed claims questioning recent growth figures. Responding to criticisms raised regarding revisions in the GDP series, he stated, "that 2.6% claim is absolutely bogus" and explained that revisions follow international standards like double deflation. Subramanian addressed concerns raised by former CEA Arvind Subramanian and others about a trust deficit in official data, arguing that economic indicators like double-digit growth in passenger vehicles, bank credit, and capital expenditure support strong economic expansion. He emphasized that methodological revisions occur globally and urged that GDP data analysis remain grounded in economics rather than politics.
