Honda ADV160 unveiled in India, to become country's first E85-compatible scooter
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has unveiled the ADV160, an adventure-style maxi-scooter that combines rugged styling, premium features and an E85-compatible engine, making it India's first scooter ready to run on high-ethanol fuel.

More importantly, the ADV160 is set to become India's first scooter capable of running on E85 fuel, underscoring Honda's broader strategy of introducing alternative-fuel-ready products alongside conventional petrol models.
The ADV160 was showcased as part of Honda's newly announced 10-product Made-in-India portfolio and will be manufactured locally before being exported to international markets. Honda has confirmed that the scooter will be retailed through both its mainstream RedWing dealerships and the premium BigWing network, allowing it to reach a wider audience.
India's first E85-ready scooter
The biggest talking point is the ADV160's E85-compatible powertrain. The scooter is powered by a 157cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that develops 16.3bhp and 14.9Nm, paired with a CVT. Unlike conventional petrol scooters currently on sale, this engine has been engineered to operate on fuel containing up to 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent petrol, making it one of the most future-ready two-wheelers in Honda's Indian lineup.
The move also aligns with the company's multi-pathway approach, which includes internal combustion, electric and flex-fuel technologies as India gradually expands its ethanol-blended fuel ecosystem.

Drawing inspiration from Honda's larger X-ADV crossover scooter, the ADV160 adopts a rugged design with sharp bodywork, a tall adjustable windscreen and twin LED headlamps. Block-pattern tyres, an upright riding position and increased ground clearance further reinforce its adventure-oriented character.
Honda describes the ADV160 as a "City Adventure" scooter, designed to combine everyday commuting practicality with the ability to tackle rougher roads and weekend touring.

The ADV160 comes loaded with premium equipment rarely seen in scooters sold in India. It features a full-colour TFT instrument cluster with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to access navigation and communication functions on the move.
Other highlights include Honda Selectable Torque Control (traction control), single-channel ABS, a USB charging socket and a spacious 27-litre underseat storage compartment capable of accommodating everyday luggage or a full-face helmet.
