Sennheiser has entered into a multi-year partnership with Formula E to become the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s Official Sound Provider. The collaboration will focus on using advanced audio technology to create more immersive experiences for fans watching the all-electric racing series.

As part of the partnership, Formula E will integrate Sennheiser’s professional audio solutions and AMBEO immersive audio technology into its broadcast and trackside operations. The two companies will explore new audio capture, processing and encoding workflows designed to bring viewers closer to the action across different devices.

The partnership comes as Formula E enters the GEN4 era, with both companies looking to capture and define the distinctive soundscape of electric motorsport. Sennheiser’s technology will be used to explore dynamic in-car and trackside audio, with a focus on creating a more natural, three-dimensional listening experience.

“Innovation and technology are at the core of Formula E, and Sennheiser is the perfect partner to help us redefine the audio landscape of our championship,” said Dan Cherowbrier, CTO, Formula E. He added that the partnership will help connect audio innovation with practical applications and bring fans closer to the racing action.

Sennheiser Group CEO Andreas Sennheiser said Formula E provides an environment where the company can explore new applications for advanced audio technology. He highlighted the potential to develop the sport’s acoustic identity through in-car and trackside soundscapes.
