All new textbooks for Classes 1-9 ready except two, to be released by August: NCERT
NCERT said almost all new textbooks based on the National Curriculum Framework are now available. Only two Class 9 books remain pending, while Classes 10 and 11 will continue with existing books this year.

NCERT has said the rollout of its new school textbooks based on the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023 is almost complete, with only two Class 9 books yet to be released. The remaining textbooks are expected to be available by August, according to officials.
The clarification comes amid concerns from students, parents and teachers that several books were still unavailable despite the academic session being underway for nearly three months.
JUST TWO BOOKS LEFT
NCERT officials said the remaining two textbooks are in the final stages of preparation and are expected to be released by August.
"The new textbooks have been developed in line with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023. All textbooks for Classes 1 to 8 are now available in both digital and print formats. Textbooks for Class 9 have also been released, except for two of them, which will be available by August," a senior official said.
The statement comes as schools across the country continue implementing revised textbooks developed under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
WHAT CHANGES NEXT?
NCERT also clarified that students in Classes 10 and 11 will continue studying from the existing textbooks during the 2026-27 academic session.
The revised books for these classes, aligned with the new curriculum framework, will only be introduced from the 2027-28 academic session. This means there will be no change in textbooks for Class 10 and Class 11 this year.
NEP-DRIVEN CURRICULUM ROLLOUT
The new textbooks have been developed under the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023, one of the key reforms proposed under the National Education Policy 2020.
The curriculum framework aims to make school education more competency-based, flexible and aligned with experiential learning.
As the rollout enters its final phase for Classes 1 to 9, NCERT says schools now have access to nearly the complete set of revised learning materials, with only two Class 9 textbooks awaiting release next month.
